Big 4 Motors – History

Big 4 Motors, or Big 4 Chrysler Dodge Jeep as it is more  commonly known, was established in 1972 and was  Calgary’s only Jeep dealership until 1988. At that time, Big  4 took on Chrysler and Dodge in addition to Jeep, and has  been Calgary’s Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep retail store ever      since. In 1996 Big 4 became part of the Wood Automotive Group, one of Alberta’s largest automobile retailers. Since 1996, Big 4 Chrysler Dodge Jeep has grown to nearly double it staff, and serves community members from across Western Canada.

From the very beginning, Big 4 Chrysler Dodge Jeep has been widely recognized for its excellence in customer service both in the showroom, and in the service shop. Big 4 has received the Chrysler President’s Club Award three times, an award that is granted on the basis of sales volume and customer service – attributes in which Big 4 is a leader. In March of 2000, Big 4 Chrysler Dodge Jeep was granted 5-Star Certification, an achievement that acknowledges consistency in exceeding customer expectations, and Big 4 has maintained this standing ever since.

While many things have changed over the years, one thing has stayed the same: Big 4 Chrysler Dodge Jeep operates as a family-style business. The value placed on respect for fellow team members is equal to that of respect for customers. This value is modeled by staff in both front-end sales and in the service shop, and is reflected in Big 4’s mission statement: “To be your dealership for a lifetime by respectfully earning your business”. Additionally, great emphasis is placed on the importance of listening – really listening – to customers, in order to help them make the best decision for their families and for their lifestyles. Because of this, Big 4 Chrysler Dodge Jeep’s repeat and referral customers now make up more than half of their overall clientele.

Big 4 Chrysler Dodge Jeep has historically been highly committed to community investment, supporting various community and charity initiatives. In particular, Big 4 has been a primary supporter of the annual Flames Celebrity Charity Golf Classic in support of the Calgary Flames Foundation, the annual Flames Alumni Masters Golf Tournament in support of various organizations including the Impact Society, and the annual Woodridge Charity Golf Tournament in support of the PREP Program of Calgary.
